In our user testing we're enjoying the layout of the Alfresco theme. One request that keeps coming up involves the location of the search bar on the index page vs all other pages. On the index page the search bar is in the upper left corner but it moves to the lower rightt hand side of the top border on all other pages. i understand that if it were to go in the top border tool bar, more than 4 task buttons would push the search bar off of the page.
Any way we can orient the search bar on the index page to a location lower right so that the search bar is found consistently in one spot on all pages?
The search box is placed in the left corner by design when having a slider on the home page, because if it was on the right an empty space will occur on the left corner. If there is no slider on the home page, the search box will be placed on the right below the currency selector. You can achieve a similar look if you have a slider as well, but I am not sure it will look fine, as an empty space will be left on the left corner. But if you want to achieve this, you should change some styling for the case when you have a slider on the home page. For that purpose you can use the css class of the parent element("home-page-header main-slider-header") so that no other styling is broken for the cases when having no slider on the home page.
Hope that helps!
