Creating new pattern png file

Hello-

I used the themeroller to customize my electronics theme, and chose one of the patterns for my background, with the intention of eventually replacing that pattern .png with one of my own creation.

When I do change to use my png, it looks terrible.

Can you tell me some information about how you make your pattern png's? Dimensions, hex color of lines, amount of transparency, etc.

Hello Steve,

The pattern png file can be with any color, size or level of transparency. It is basically an image that repeats horizontal and vertically until it fills the width and height of your website. The background of your theme is white, so any transparent parts will show the color beneath the image. Usually the pattern images are not very large in size, so that the page loading is not slower.
