How much detail can you find out about Instagram's current activity?

A few days ago, I stumbled across an old social media profile that I hadn’t logged into for years, out of curiosity, I started comparing the accounts I followed back then with the ones I’ve added more recently, the contrast was surprisingly clear, older follows reflected interests I no longer spend much time on, while newer ones were connected to projects, hobbies, and topics that currently occupy a lot of my attention, It felt almost like a timeline showing how my preferences had evolved over the years, at the same time, I know many people follow accounts for temporary reasons and never engage with them again, that made me wonder whether platforms or tools like recentlyfollowed can genuinely help identify long-term interest trends, or if follow activity is too inconsistent to provide meaningful insight into someone’s online behavior.
